Wednesday 22nd July 2026 – South Longford Tour

On Wednesday our focus will turn to a South Longford Tour and in particular Keenagh.

Departure 10.00am sharp. we will meet opposite Lidl on the Dublin road.

In Keenagh we will see the Clock Tower, Mosstown Estate and visit the historic Church of Ireland and hear of their Farrell connections to the local area throughout the ages. Then we will travel to the nearby Corlea Trackway and see the Iron Age roadway and the Visitor Centre where we will enjoy some light refreshments.

Afternoon: 3.00pm approx we will be having a late lunch in Ballymahon at a venue to be advised nearer the time.

Evening: 6.00pm approx. return to drop off opposite Lidl on the Dublin Road.

7.30pm: Genealogy/DNA lecture and discussion wit Dr. Maurice Gleeson in The Longford Arms Hotel.
